Walter Howell Deverell

Deverell was appointed Assistant Master of the Government School of Design in 1848. He was good friends with Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828-1882). He was proposed as a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1850, though the nomination was never confirmed. He exhibited 4 works at the Royal Academy between 1847-53. His life was short, dying at the age of 27 after a year of continued illness.
