A sketch for the fifth painting in the series of seven canvases illustrating 'The Story of St George' for the dining room of the artist Myles Birket Foster, at Witley, Surrey.The Princess Sabra is kneeling on the ground facing right in this sketch, not standing and facing left as in the finished oil. The original oil painting of 1866-67 is now in a private collection, formerly in the FORBES Magazine Collection, New York.
