A study for the fourth painting in the series of seven canvases illustrating 'The Story of St George' for the dining room of the artist Myles Birket Foster, at Witley, Surrey. The Princess is walking to the right, preceded by a man-at-arms, the figures of attendants as seen in the finished painting, are omitted. The original oil painting of 1866-67 is now in the Collection of Lord Lloyd Webber
