The drawings were studies for a series of thirteen stained glass designs illustrating the Story of Tristram and Iseult as told in Malory's 'Morte d'Arthur'. The windows were commissioned by a Bradford merchant, Walter Dunlop, for the decoration of the entrance hall at Harden Grange, near Bingley, Yorkshire, and are now in Bradford City Art Gallery.
