Information

This is one of a number of drawings in the collection executed on pages from the same notebook with the watermark 'Joynson 1855.' Betty Elzea has identified the sketch as a copy of an etching by Thomas Wyck (c. 1616-1677) entitled 'House built into the Ruins' (Frederick Sandys 1829-1904: A Catalogue Raisonné, p. 147).

  • Bequeathed by James Richardson Holliday, 1927.
