Corner of an Eastern CourtyardBy Henry Wallis 1870 Accession number: 1918P17 Oil on canvas. Width: 470 mm Height: 610 mm InformationIn the later part of his career Wallis travelled and painted in Italy, Sicily and Egypt, where he also assisted in archaelogical excavations. This is probably a work from Wallis's later career, and may be a Capri scene. There is a comparable canvas known as 'Mediterranean Landscape seen from the Terrace of a Villa' (1870s) currently in a private collection.
