Copy of a Border from a fifteenth-century illuminated Manuscript1850 – 1859 Accession number: 1906P1029 Pencil on paper. Width: 91 mm Height: 139 mm InformationThis is one of a number of tracings from medieval manuscripts in the Birmingham collection which Sandys seems to have made in the 1850s. The exact manuscript that he copied has not been identified but it is likely to have been one of those held in the British Museum in the nineteenth century but now in the British Library.
