Design for an unknown Subject1852 Accession number: 1904P372 Pencil on paper. Width: 161 mm Height: 231 mm InformationThis would appear to be a work on the same subject as that of 1904P370 and 1904P371 but is more finished and has fewer figures. Neither William Morris, W. M. Rossetti or others to whom Fairfax Murray showed these designs had ever seen them previously. All three designs are from a sketchbook that was previously in the Schott Collection. Suggested subjects to date include' Elijah and the Widow's Son' or a Dantesque subject.
