In the centre an artist painting. A mother and child seated to the left in front of the easel; another figure in the background on the left and four figures indicated behind the painter. The principal figure is in ink, the others in pencil with slight touches of outlining.

Information

This Italian Renaissance figure looks more like Raphael than Giorgione, which might suggest that it is part of some historical grouping of artists admired by Rossetti ( see 1904P450 and 1904P451).
