It is one of an edition 200.The original watercolour from which this photogravure is taken is currently in the collection of the South Africa National Gallery, Cape Town.

The original watercolour on which this photogravure is based dates from 1870, currently in the collection of the South Africa National Gallery, Cape Town. A completed compositional drawing with nude figures, dating from 1870, is in the collection of the William Morris Gallery, Walthamstow. Birmingham has, in its permanent collection, a study for the figure of love, dating from 1869 (1927P529).
