Information

This is an early sketch for 'Orlando and Rosamund,' the composition which ultimately became 'The Long Engagement' (1902P13). The close intimacy of the couple, so prominent in the later painting, is already apparent in this sketch in which the two figures stand embracing each other in a confined space.
