Information

A study for the fourth painting in the series of seven canvases illustrating 'The Story of St George' for the dining room of the artist Myles Birket Foster, at Witley, Surrey. This study shows one of the attendants, a faint outline of a glowing candle is drawn to the left of this figure. The composition mirrors that of the finished oil painting of 1866-67 now in the Collection of Lord Lloyd Webber.
