Information

The subject of this wood engraving is dervied from Genesis 14:17-21. In this passage Abram returns truimphantly from saving his kidnapped brother and is blessed by Melchizedek, King of Salem. Like many of Solomon's works it shows his interest in religious ceremonies and priests. Melchizedek is a king but is also a described in the Old Testament as a "priest of God Most High."
