Unknown Subject - Drapery Study1860 – 1865 Accession number: 1906P1024 Pencil on paper. Width: 112 mm Height: 181 mm InformationIt is possible that this drapery study was drawn from an artist's dummy as the figure has no head or hands. However, Sandys uses a very similar costume in another sheet of drawings featuring a human model (private collection) and Betty Elzea suggests that they may have been made for the same, unknown, subject and perhaps in the same session (Frederick Sandys 1829-1904: A Catalogue RaisonnĂ©, p. 220).
