Moses, David, St John the Baptist and St Paul1866 Accession number: 1904P217 Brown-red chalk over pencil on two sheets of joined paper. Width: 770 mm Height: 554 mm InformationThe inscription on the upper right of this drawing would appear to refer to the destination of the window for which this was a design, but does not seem to have been executed in any of the locations in Glasgow for which Morris & Co supplied glass. The east window at Townhead Blochairn Church does contain figures of Moses, David, Sts John the Baptist and Paul, but they differ considerably from the figures in this study. It is therefore possible that this design is an early conception of the figures for the Townhead Blochairn Church. This cartoon was not catalogued by A E Whitley in 1939.
