  • Recto: a full length young woman stands next to a tree, on the left, with her name, Amy, carved into the bark.  She is wearing a long purple skirt, a matching bodice over a white blouse and a cream shawl with a turquiose stripes.  Her hair is decorated with a single flower worn at the side of her head.  She appears to be adjusting her hair as she looks at her name carved into the bark.  Down the side of the tree are two branches of ivy.  At the base of the tree are bluebells and by her feet are ferns.  Verso: pencil sketch.

  • In an overgrown forest setting, a clergy man meets his lover. The man stands in the shadow of the tree and the woman looks at her name carved into the bark of the tree. Their hands are clasped together and a faithful dog stands at their feet staring up at them.

  • A forest scene at night.  A man kneels on one leg while he lifts a little girl up in his arms.  She wears a green dress with one lost shoe as she puts her arms around his neck. This scene of reconcilliation is lit by the man's lamp which rests in the lower left corner.

  • Young Mary kneels in the centre of the composition winding a white cloth around a infant Christ who is held by an angel on the right.  Mary wears a white robe and her long red hair falls loosely over her shoulders.  An angel on the left holds a lamp to aid Mary.  In the background there is a manger, with floor strewn with straw.  The wings of the angels frame the bottom of the composition.  At the top of the image is a hole in the ceiling through which can be seen the heads of three angels.
