The Pre-Raphaelite Online Resource website has now launched and has had some very positive comments and feedback.
Professor Stephen Wildman, Director of the Ruskin Library and Research Centre, Lancaster University, said: "The Pre-Raphaelite Online Resource is a major step forward in bringing Victorian art into the digital age. The images and information now available online will be of great use to scholars, while the teaching resources should fire the imagination and interest of schools everywhere, bringing the unsurpassed Birmingham collection the worldwide attention it deserves."
Councillor Martin Mullaney, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Culture, said: ”What has been achieved here by our own Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is truly amazing. We have the world’s largest collection available not only to Birmingham residents, but the world.”
We are still adding images and records to the site so the online collection will continue to grow. We will update the news section with information on significant additions to the website.
Thanks are due to Intute for very quickly providing full record details for the site and making the website the Editor’s Choice: Intute
