In January this year the Pre-Raphaelite Online Resource won a BETT 2010 award in the category of Digital Collections and Resource Banks. A related video about the Pre-Raphaelite website is now available on the BECTA website. This is one of a number of videos that have been created about the BETT 2010 award winners.

The video features teachers and pupils from Lordswood Boys School in Birmingham. They were filmed using the online resource in their school and visiting the Pre-Raphaelite galleries at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. The boys were very enthusiastic about the website and about seeing the works of art in person.

In addition to the video there is also information about why the Pre-Raphaelite website was awarded the Digital Collections and Resource Banks Winner. Judges admired the high quality of the images, ‘which have the flexibility to be repurposed both by learners and teachers’. They also admired the opportunities for discussion, which they considered would ‘enable quality interaction’.

To view the video and find out more about why the resource is seen as being very useful in supporting teaching in schools and colleges please visit the BECTA website.
